The dam in Karpacz was built on the Łomnica River, below Konstytucji 3-ego Maja Street. The mountainous nature of the river, whose drop in the upper reaches exceeds 70 per mille, has caused many problems for the inhabitants of the village for years. Currently, it is one of the popular tourist attractions of Karpacz. Through its crown – measuring 105 meters in length – runs a red tourist trail. It leads to the top of the Grabowiec mountain. The dam and its picturesque surroundings have become a fantastic walking place in Karpacz and an ideal place for commemorative photo sessions.
